And The Roller Coaster Ride Continues!...

Pink -Slipped AGAIN!! I hate CA. This state is so incredibly messed up! Let's pay for a high speed rail system that goes from nowhere to nowhere...and back!...instead of paying for the education of CA students. WTH! EVERY CA politician in office currently should be voted OUT! None of them give a rat's arse about CA education. Grrrrrr...

State Politicians are Lying Whores and Thieves!

It has been 18 months since my last posting. In that time I have been "pink-slipped" 2 more times, taught 5th grade last year and back to kindergarten this year. I LOVE Kindergarten but it doesn't look promising at all for rehiring next year. Our small district has cut 7 elementary positions and 5 MS/HS partial positions (periods).

Our state politicians have successfully ruined the budget of this state with little chance of repairing in the next 5 years. These asses have funded all of their garbage with no thought of education taking the brunt of their mistakes. But keep those prisoners in luxury!

Our classrooms are going to be filled to the ceilings and teachers will be there only for crowd control. You CANNOT teach a group of 35 kindergartners with no aides and no parent help...all by yourself. And the upper grades will be at 40+...THAT'S JUST RIDICULOUS!

Pink Slipped and Packing!

Packing my classroom has been a daunting task. With no possibility of a position in my district next year (I was "pink slipped" in March) I am wondering what will be next in my life. I will be subbing once again but that is not the same as having your "own" group of kids to greet everyday.

I had a wonderful year as a 1st year Kindergarten teacher, working with the best Kinder team of teachers on the planet! Our kids did fabulous on their end of the year assessments and I credit that to our team's solid commitment to working together and devising numerous strategies to reach ALL of our students. 

I will miss those incredibly brilliant ladies (only 2 are staying) but we did not say goodbye...only see you soon!
